All is well

We are healthy!!! First time in quite awhile that all 4 of us have mostly felt good for a week straight. Looking forward to Memorial Day tomorrow and a cookout. Daniel is stringing together more and more words, and being a 2 year old, with all associated joys and tribulations. Joshua can pull to a stand and transfer between objects, although not actually cruise. Both are eating well. Sarah is lovely. We were given a gift of a sweet date at the Melting Pot and a movie recently. I've been working a good bit, but I love it, and I also love the beach trip we're about to go. Joshua looks forward to eating some sand and Daniel to playing in the ocean.

Blessings

We are in Moultrie, GA for my cousin Adam's wedding tomorrow. Should be a blessed event. Tough traveling with a baby and a potty-training 2 year old, but we took back roads and avoided the boredom of interstates, and got to show Daniel the farm machinery he loves.

God was very gracious to us these last 2 days. Things that had potential for real disaster were narrowly avoided, and we try to remember to thank Him who saves us from the disaster of life apart from Him through Christ's sacrifice.

I worked the night shift 2 days in a row, and driving home yesterday, I realized that I was getting sleepy and needed to get off the interstate. Within 10 seconds of making that decision, I came upon the only rest station on the road between work and home.

Next, this morning we were packed in Sarah's car and driving away, when the transmission started acting up, first time its done that in a year probably. We were able to promptly turn around, pack up my truck in a few minutes, and get back on the road. That could have happened anywhere, but it happened providentially in our neighborhood.

Finally, while riding the elevator down in the hotel this afternoon, Daniel decided to put the hand I wasn't holding on the door as it was sliding open into the recess, and his finger got pulled in and stuck. But, I was able to pull it out promptly with no significant damage. Again, potential for serious harm but for great sovereign God who cares for His children.

Well, I spoke too soon. We've been through a bit more since that last post, but nothing too terrible.

Overall, no complaints. Joshua can pull to a stand on certain objects now, and likes to dance. Daniel is beginning the potty-training process with some successes and failures. Sarah is beautiful as always, and Mother's Day is just around the corner. I'm on yet another (hopefully not too brief) fitness/eating right kick. I've signed up for the Marine Corps Mud Run, a team running/obstacle race in, you guessed it, the mud come September.
